Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) is a private non-profit agency, founded in 1957, to find “a permanent place to call HOME” for harder-to-place children waiting in foster care, including older children ages 6 – 18, children of color of all ages, sibling groups, and children with emotional, physical and intellectual challenges. MARE works in cooperation with the Massachusetts Department of Social Services (DSS) and private agencies. Thanks to familiar programs like Sunday’s Child® in the Boston Globe and Wednesday’s Child with news anchor Jack Williams on WBZ-TV4, MARE has moved more than 5,000 children from temporary care to stable, loving families.
